Tessen are iron fans that the samurai frequently carried in place of an opening fan. Our is cast in steel, an exact duplicate of the original. Yoshida Kotaro was renownned for his ability with the tessen and carried one frequently. A story is told that in his youth he killed a bear with a blow from a tessen. Ours comes with a storage bag, made from imported obi. |
